House Keeper

Job Description
A camp-based opportunity for housekeepers located just south of Fort McMurray. Camp housekeeping experience is an absolute must. Schedule is 7 days on, 7 days off working 10-12 hour days. Shifts start on Wednesdays.
MUST pass a drug and alcohol test prior to employment.
The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the overall cleanliness of the facilities to the highest level.
What you’ll do

Full housekeeping services in guest rooms, laundry rooms and hallways.

Conduct daily walkdowns in multiple dorms.

Make beds and change linen as needed.

Stock linen carts with linen, chemicals and necessary tools.

Vacuum and dust all room furniture, blinds including hallways.

Wash, scrub and sanitize showers, toilets, windows and mirrors.

Empty garbage from all sleeping areas including trash and recycling collection.

Wash and fold towels, linens and bedding. Clean laundry rooms.

Load and unload laundry and linen truck as well as supplies.

Maintain an accurate record of all bedding allotted in lodge, assist with the inventory, and report any shortages to the Guest Services Associate.

Ensure health and safety regulations and quality standards are maintained.

Participate in Workplace Health & Safety Initiatives.

Provide mentorship and training to new staff.

Additional duties and responsibilities may be required.

Must be flexible and willing to do all jobs.

Qualifications
-
- You have knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment. Current WHMIS required.
- Ideally, you have related experience in a camp setting or hotel environment.
- You are fluent in English with good written and verbal communication skills.
- You are fit to move to multiple dorms in one shift.
- You can prioritize multiple demands and organize a work schedule.
- You have a strong customer service focus and ability to maintain a positive attitude.
- You have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- You can stand for a long period of time and lift up to 35 pounds.
- You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with others.
This is a small camp and requires a real team player who is willing to jump in and help wherever, whenever needed.
The pay is $18/hr. This is a temporary role that has potential to become permanent for the right candidate and benefits after 90 days. Flights are available from Edmonton or Calgary and shuttle service from Fort McMurray airport to site.
